MEETING PROFILE
Every three years FIP, the Fédération Internationale des Podologues (the International Federation of Podiatrists) together with a member country organise the World Congress of Podiatry a congress acknowledging the state of the art in foot care, treatment of foot problems and evidence based podiatry. The FIP World Congress is by far the most important meeting of its kind. The Dutch Podiatry Association (NVvP) and the board of FIP expect to welcome not only many podiatrists from all 26 member countries, but also doctors, nurses and other professionals interested in the field of feet and shoes.
Worldwide, podiatrists are involved in scientific research concerning the diagnosis and treatment of foot problems. The complexity of foot pathology is a challenge for all professionals and for scientists in particular. The 3-day Congress will feature topics varying from basic research to daily clinical practice. Through state-of-the-art and general lectures, oral and poster presentations of submitted abstracts, workshops, and meet-the-professor sessions, almost every aspect of foot pathology and foot care will be addressed.
PROGRAM
The Dutch Podiatry Association is planning an interesting and inspiring programme for the 20th anniversary of the three-yearly FIP congress. In addition to keynotes on various subjects and interesting case studies and lectures on our profession from all over the world, we are planning to present several new elements:
- Workshops will give you the opportunity to learn new techniques and practice these
under the supervision of renown specialists
- A practical programme on conservative instrumental treatment and silicones, in the honour of the late
Robert van Lith
- Awards for the most outstanding poster(s) and presentation(s)
VENUE
The medium-sized Amsterdam RAI is ideally situated for (inter)national delegates. It has a railway and metro station at short walking distance and a tram stop at its doorstep. Amsterdam RAI has direct rail connections with Amsterdam Airport Schiphol (approx. 9 minutes) and the historical city centre of Amsterdam (approx. 15 minutes).
